Section:  Pest Control and Fumigation

Authority:  Reports to the Operations Manager.

Our client in the commercial cleaning industry is looking to fill the position of a Pest Control Officer.

Required Knowledge:      

Chemistry — Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Required Experience:      

A minimum of 1 year working experience in a reputable organization. Good communication skills are desirable

Qualifications:        

DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL ENTOMOLOGY AND PARASITOLOGY

Duties and Responsibility

• Take part in pest control executions for all clients.        
• Take stock of Pest control materials and chemicals used.
• Direct and/or assist other workers in treatment and extermination processes to eliminate and control rodents, insects, and weeds.
• Inspect premises to identify infestation source and extent of damage to property, wall and roof porosity, and access to infested locations.    
• Study preliminary reports and diagrams of infested area and determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent recurrence of infestation.    
• Calculate cost of fumigation services based on accurate measurement of area dimensions requiring treatment, using acceptable standards.
• Record work activities performed and follow up on the Job cards to completion.
• Advise and Determine the kind of treatment required to eliminate a particular type of pest.
• Respond to Clients requests and Identify opportunities to sell additional company services and products.
• Execute mobile fumigation activities
• Any other duties as assigned.
